Be My Vegantine? A Vegan’s Valentines Meal Out Guide

Here are some of our favourite vegan dishes – all from popular, UK chain restaurants. This Valentine’s day, spark some romance and try some of these vegan meals…

Win over your date with some gorgeous, Italian food. Prezzo offer a delicious range of plant-based pasta dishes, including their Mediterranean Vegetable Pea Fusilli and their Marinated Aubergine Paccheri.

Lentil and mushroom ragu and the Verde Burger are amongst many of Bella Italia’s mouth-watering vegan mains.

ASK Italian offers the ultimate Valentine’s worthy dessert, the vegan Blood Orange and Chocolate Tart. With a nut and date base and a tangy raspberry sorbet, this perfect pudding won the PETA sweet treat award!

Pizza Express has extensive vegan offerings including the new Puttanesca Romana Pizza (Jack fruit, capers, tomatoes, olives, red onion and a vegan mozzarella). This is described as not just a new vegan pizza but a genuine ‘game-changer’. Other Italian chain restaurants including Strada and Carluccio’s also have some great vegan meals.

Feeling tropical? Well, Bills offer a Coconut Ice cream, with mango sauce and coconut flakes… and it’s completely vegan! Bill’s Restaurants have many great vegan options. Their ‘’Duck Salad’’ (made with seitan) sure packs a punch.

The ‘Jack-in-a-bun’ burger from GBK, features a homemade butternut squash and quinoa patty, beetroot mayo, and Korean pulled jackfruit.

Las Iguanas has an entire menu dedicated to vegan food! Some of our favourites includes a smoked chipotle pulled jackfruit & beetroot burrito and spring onion rice.

You can’t beat a Wagamama’s. Especially now that there is a ‘Vegatsu’. That’s right. Wagamama’s famous Katsu Curry has now been veganised and is full of plant-based heroes. It is arguably better than the original chicken Katsu Curry!
