Creamy Home Made Oat Milk

There are so many delicious vegan milk alternatives. These include almond, cashew, hazelnut, soy and oat.

As much as we love vegan milks, they can be a little pricey. Luckily, we have a vegan hack, you can make your very own (arguably the best) oat milk at home! It’s just as delicious, nutritious and considerably cheaper too! Here’s four simple steps to make your home-made oat milk!

Ingredients:

1 cup of oats

3-4 cups of water

1 tablespoon of maple syrup

Equipment:

  • Blender
  • Mesh bag/ Cheesecloth
  • Bowl
  • Sealable Bottle or Jar

Method:

1. Add the oats, water and maple syrup into a blender and blend for 30 seconds.

2. Pour the mixture into a mesh bag and hold it over a bowl.

3. Squeeze the bag, straining the liquid into the bowl.

4. Pour the oat milk into a sealable bottle or jar and store in your fridge.

Enjoy your home-made oat milk! It is a great compliment to your morning bowl of cereal, tea and coffee or even your favourite healthy smoothie!

The oat milk will stay fresh for a few days. It may separate in the fridge, so give it a shake before using it.
